The Rifton Dynamic Stander
The Rifton Dynamic Stander offers special needs children upright mobility and the opportunity to interact with peers at eye level- definitely a great asset for inclusion. Even children who would normally be wheelchair bound and have no weight bearing capabilities can enjoy mobility thanks to the Dynamic Stander. What’s more, this Stander helps the child improve the motor skills needed to move on towards standing on their own.
Features
- Seat pad is adjustable allowing child to improve their standing skills by slow increases in weight bearing.
- Accommodates children with no weight bearing, including amputees.
- Knee straps keep legs apart when desired.
- Fleecy straps can be used for back or neck support.
- Optional communication tray is adjustable and can be used as an easily accessible “work surface” for activities or for placing small objects.
- Arm prompts are available to help with shoulder and head control, and can be removed when sufficient control develops.
- Each size stander accommodates a substantial height range allowing children to use the stander and still have room for growth.
- Extra wide footboard eases transfers and allows for user to take a more active part in the sit-to-stand/ wheelchair-to-stander process.
- Large casters help stander move freely when needed, and lock securely for safe transfers.
- Optional large wheels are easily removable allowing the stander to roll up to a table so that the user can participate in stationary activities. The wheels also allow for self-propulsion so that the child can explore their environment. They lock when the Stander needs to be kept in place. The lock can be released easily when user is ready to roll.
