Standers
Standers offer children who cannot stand on their own the opportunity to be in the upright position so that disabled children can participate in more activities than ever before. Standing offers many benefits. Physiological benefits include: prevention of joint contractures, increased range of motion, and improvement in bone density, renal function, bowel function, and motor skills. Psychological benefits include: increased self-esteem, independence, and cognition, and encourages inclusion and interaction with peers.
At Medical Arts, we offer a variety of standers: supine standers, prone standers, multi-positioning standers, dynamic standers, and glider standers from Rifton, EasyStand, and Drive/Wenzelite.
